- This is the 36-inch cable version for Gen8 Smart Array FBWC modules. HPE also makes capacitor packs with shorter cables and the Gen9 / Gen10 Smart Storage Battery, which are different parts. Please check the part number (654873-003 or 660093-001) and cable length on your existing unit before ordering.
- Capacitor pack only. The Smart Array controller, FBWC cache module and mounting bracket are not included.
- After installation the capacitor needs time to charge before the controller enables write cache. Please allow for this when testing.

Product Description
The HPE 654873-003 (spare 660093-001) is the 5.4V capacitor pack used with the Flash-Backed Write Cache module on Smart Array P222, P420, P420i, P421 and P822 controllers in ProLiant Gen8 servers such as the DL360p and DL380p Gen8. If the capacitor fails, the controller reports a cache or capacitor error and turns off write caching, which slows disk performance. Fitting a replacement restores cache protection once the pack has charged. The 36-inch cable lets the pack be mounted away from the controller in the chassis. Please compare the part number on your existing pack before ordering.
